    ... Its tiny with a very cute downtown. We stopped for lunch at the only Chinese restaurant in town, which the locals just refer to as "China". We ordered lunch and some hot tea. The girl told us they didn't have hot tea, only sweet tea! We are very excited for Kallie. The town, the campus, the academics, and the softball all come together to make a great place for her to be for the next few ...

    ... and two graves of Southern Lieutenants who died that day. We then had a long trip down to Meridian where we are staying for the night. We didn't do dinner out tonight. The motel, Hampton Inn, had a manager's party. It was two drinks and appetizers. We still had our leftovers from last night. So we had the appetizers and finished up with the leftovers in our room. A nice quiet evening reading and watching ...

    24 hours on a Greyhound bus (allmost)

    ... s hot and steamy. I decided to get a motel here for the night rather than show up at the boat yard to find the boat in who knows what condition at sunset. Try to put the mattresses back on the bed, unpack the sheets and who knows what else. I could have been there that night but I called the local bus company and told them to pick me up the next day instead. I got in a taxi and went to the local LaQuinta and checked in.

    Now. You would think that things would be OK by now but ...

    ... homes. Large porches, everything flowered and nicely manicured lawns. Lots of barbershops and churches. Hugh says he saw church, church, church, adult bookstore. Repeat.

    Georgetown, Georgia stopped just the other side of the bridge. Not much to say here except now we've been in Georgia! The bridge was pretty. Flowering trees planted alongside of it was unusual.

    ... intake valve itself that keeps closing when it hits turbulence in the water. When they can make it to a marina with facilities, they hope to use the marina's lift to hold up the boat so that this valve can be replaced. In the meantime, they will keep their eyes on the thermometer and have the Dawn and Tide close at hand since this seems to work wonders.
