We awoke to rain today so we were glad we had the rental car. We drove around San Francisco but not to downtown as the San Francisco Giants won the World Series the night we arrived and today was the celebratory parade, with roads closed and even museums closed in that area ! So across the Golden Gate Bridge we went and on to Sausilito where we had some lunch at a little organic French cafe called Bio Sausalito 2633 Broadway; again fantastic fresh ...

Some might be interested in what I packed for a 4 week trip. For a trip of that length, laundry is a given. I've got laundry in the room down to a science -- a good thing as Iceland lacks laundromats.

After Sausalito, the Sam Francisco Bay appeared through distant fog. And the the Golden Gate Bridge appeared. Andrew was used to approaching the bridge from ...

... stellar service. It started with the simple printing of the boarding pass at home. After traversing many screens in their checkin flow, I was told my passport was unverified and I would have to checkin at the airport. From a usability viewpoint, telling me this much earlier in the flow would seem to yield a better experience. Stop! I'm away from software work for a month so shelve ...

... Walked through Gateway Park to the area where the amphitheatre the Dejong Modern Art Museum and the Science and Technology Museum are. Time was limited but we went into the Modern Art Museum and went up to the observation deck which allowed us a wonderful view of San Francisco all round. After that we went to the Japanese garden which was so worth the seven dollars entry fee per person. ...
