... dressed in our 20's finest (with an animal twist), we headed to the Sahara Lounge where Jessica's boyfriend, Chris, was playing with Kev Bev and The Woodland Creatures. The venue was packed, however everyone remained good-natured, even as the space became increasingly small. We had a very good time. We left soon after midnight, hit up an amazing 24 hour diner (with hummus sandwiches all day long!?) adjacent to our hotel, and dreamed our first dreams of ...

So today I went and hired a car but the day didn't start so smoothly. I picked a place near the motel I was staying so I could just walk there in the morning...along the freeway. Anyway I started off walking there and realized I was walking on the wrong side of the freeway...which is annoying as I can't very well hop over 10 lanes of traffic, although I did think about it! Anyway I was walking for ages and saw where the place SHOULD be, however it was there anyway ...

... but excited expressions. Our first wild snake! So exciting. All this wildlife in the middle of a city. Austin is just awesome. We cooked dinner on the large patch of grass in Zilkner park, sharing a bench with 2 guys called Baxter and Cameron. They were drinking beer and enjoying the sun on a Saturday. Wednesday 7th August

We said Goodbye to Ambergris and had a short hop with Maya Air back to Belize City. The pilot seemed to spend most of his time filling in paperwork, rather than flying. I wanted to say, Watch the sky, please, but he seemed to know what he was doing. I guess if you fly the same route 4 times a day you really get to know it.
