We woke up this morning to rain and headed off at 8.30am heading to Sioux Falls. The rain cleared a couple of hours into the trip and we arrived in Sioux Falls to cloudy skies but no rain.

We went to Falls Park, and walked around the falls for an hour or so and then headed downtown to have a look around. We had lunch at a small diner in the centre of town and then went to the Harley dealership for Chris and then ...

... whole roast chicken, $4.40; salad $3.98; banana cream pie $3.90. Cider $1.50 per bottle. Dinner sorted. There is also something cool in unloading the shopping trolley straight into the fridge and cupboards. There were RVs parked in Walmart car park overnight. It's free and Walmart encourage it. For miles and miles there was no sign of civilization. Miles and miles of flat grass prairie. Then we began to see small outcroppings of rocks. Once we entered the Badlands National Park, the groupings became more intense in width and height. These jagged soft rock formations cover miles and miles in seemingly the middle of nowhere.

After we exited the Badlands, we drove only a couple more hours and ...

        Day 22: 3489 miles

        Sunday, June 22

I woke early, loaded up the car, hugged Leah good-bye, and hit the road for Sioux Falls. Because I anticipated a long day, I kept to I-90 pretty much the entire day.

About 9:00, as Harry, Ron, Hermoine, and I were settling into our third volume, I saw a small, hand-made, roadside sign for the "Quilt Shop on the Corner" in the next town. So, of course, I had to stop.

It is time to unwind, so we head to Applebees and grap some food and a well deserved beer or two.

Day three is in the bag we chat and catch up on a few e-mails and this blog by the pool with a six pack then call it a night .....going to be a good sleep tonight!
