    ... a parking lot...he's a good guy! I've never seen one like this before...it's shaped almost like a pineapple with thick bracts holding huge seeds in place...and the tips of the bracts are needle sharp and it's heavy.

    Finally left Oregon and entered Northern California. Drove along the coast thru the Redwoods National Park.     Our final day in Redwoods country was well spent in Jedediah Smith State Park, with a gentle stroll amongst the impressive redwood trees beside the beautiful Smith River, glistening in the sunlight.
