... in fact it could almost be a miracle....my husband finally found out, it is easier, quicker and smarter to ask someone for directions instead of thinking "google maps" is the bible of directions ! We eventually found our hotel at 11.00pm at night and what an absolutely beautiful little place it is. Chucked our bags in the room turned around and went straight back out to get a pizza and a drink. Can't wait to see Venice in the daylight ...

After a year of planning, our adventure begins. Departing from the Escala and the red room of pain, our driver Martin escorts us to the airport in a town car . Our day and night will be filled with airports, shuttles, and wine. Wow! Flying business first class on a 777 is awesome! We have seats that lay down for sleeping, free drinks and 5 course French gourmet dinners. The flight is like a mini vacation before the vacation. ...

... a ton of money and were very thankful. We found our boat easily, hopped on and had our first mini tour of the Grand Canal. Everything here happens by boat. We watched merchants unload supplies by boat, we watched ambulances go by, taxi services with passengers, and of course the infamous gondolas! We arrived at our stop and met our host who, along with her little dog (everyone has dogs here), showed us to our apartment. Our apartment is small, but perfect for us. ...
