... we had to be back at the convent before 11:00 and that didn't allow time to ride the boat for night viewing of all the hundreds of lights that turn Venice into a magical place. Had to be satisfied with a walking tour and a few bridges. Oh well . . Hard to fit everything into a day and a half . . .

... perfect day, with blue skies. It was exactly like the movies. There are no cars in Venice – just small sidewalks that run along canals. I walked around, and found the Grand Canal. It was especially crowded, but I found a nice quiet bench to sit for a bit, overlooking the canal. I didn’t do a gondola ride since I was alone, but wish I had.
