Narrow winding streets, bridges and water........Venice. Here we are on the Lagoon, where the Grand Canal begins or end depending on the direction that you are traveling. Lee and I are staying in a Boutique Hotel that was built in its first guise in the 1500s, The Metropole. One of the interesting things about this hotel is that there are collections of artifacts, quirky historical items and antiques. From fans in their own individual Perspex ...

Complimentary breakfast next door again. I have been carrying around a tube of Vegemite for the last 7 weeks and today I decided to open it! Today I am off to Murano and Burano. ... few glasses of wine as the sun went down and the musicians came by. Gladly, we left for the bus station before it got dark. It is so hard to navigate your way around Venice as it is so huge and most of the alleyways are so small that they are not labelled on the map we had. We eventually found our way back to the bus station and headed back to our campsite. I want to say that I loved Venice. It's not that I hated it, it just didn't live up to my ...

... to get here was seeing the alps through the clouds. They look good from 35,000 feet. And that's the day done. Not too much to report. Tomorrow is Venice Day, I'm sure there will be more to report after that. Right, I need to keep it brief as there's only wifi in the main reception and I'm not sure how good it's going to be. Until next ...
