We left the apartment and walled around for a bit looking for a place where we could go on a gondola ride. We looked in lots of windows of shops and walked over lots of bridges until we met a man who would take us on a gondola on a route that would take us on the grand canal and through some ...

... after going the long way around). They also did tapas style food. I met three locals – Vanessa (a teacher), Emir (from Murano) and Faisal (marketing?). We had a few drinks in between me trying to understand Italian with my little knowledge of French and Emir speaking French and thinking I knew more than I actually knew) and Vanessa apologising for her lack of English. We then picked up her Labrador Yargo (a skinny labrador!) and made our way to a local ...
