tonight we went to a restaurant that Chris recommended. It was a nice place and I had a pollo sopa (chicken soup). It was nice, a bit salty, but nice. Afterwards, we went back to the hostel and mingled with some other travelers from all over the world. I was still feeling exhausted so I retired early to have a decent night's sleep. I must have been exhausted as being a. Friday night, the music was pumping and I slept through it quite easily.
... apparently has many different architectural styles, although to layman's eyes it was impossible to tell! We spent a couple of hours wondering around the ruins in awe of the artwork and craftsmanship that goes into the stone sculptures and carvings in the walls, steps, pillars, everywhere. The main site people come to see is El Castillo, it really is quite an imposing structure. We were interested to walk through the 'great ball court' just in front for El Castillo. I (Lydia) ...
... and Easy, and made me walk loads... dog loved it..
Speaking of dog... Shauna deserted her... Broke her hand playing sport and was off work so took the opportunity to do some stuff and sub contracted to Colin to dog sit...
After lunch She decided we should use the beach and ocean..
With trepidation I agreed.. would we have to walk along the beach? No I could lie in a lounger and she would go ...
... an interesting night talking about some things and getting pumped for the all inclusive send off.
The following day we got up early and after breaky we caught a taxi out to the Resort. We checked in at 10am but had to wait until 3pm to get in to our room. We were given the all inclusive arm bands and set free to get stuck in to it. The downside was that we hadn't prepared very well and weren't wearing our swimmers so we sat around by the pool drinking cocktails ...
... from me. Craig seemed excited about me visiting him and spoke about taking me out shooting. He seems to have a gun fetish, and he was showing me pics of his assault rifles. He also told me of some mates of his that have 50cal sniper rifles and M60 machine guns and how he would get them all together so I could 'light up a hillside'. Sounds pretty fun to me. I return to my hotel completely wrecked. I had dinner and crashed out on my bed. ...
