Back to our cruise. The 65' Idaho has a capacity of 84 persons. She is the largest "ship" on Payette Lake. She is also the newest star in McCall . A joint venture by boat owner Fred Finney and entrepreneur Seth Jacobson has brought the Idaho from Lake Coeur d'Alene. She was built at Finney's Boat works 30 years ago. We Weathered The Storm- Again

... was in the dime to quarter range so no damage was done. Thank you Lord for that. But then the other shoe falls.... a power failure occurs just before dark. I drive over to where seasonal workers live and report the problem. The lady states that she has worked at the park for 5 seasons and never before has the power gone out. Like my pappy used to say "Never Say Never". I go back and haul our portable generator out of the truck, hook it up and voila!, ...

A rare severe weather event has been predicted by the National Weather Service for tonight. The report indicated strong cells coming through capable of producing 1.5" hail, lightning strikes and 60 mph winds. I hope those cells pass us by. According to weather radar one that set off the severe weather warning icon on the radar just passed us to the west. Whew.

Our entire stay here has been a combination of enjoying the flora and fauna in this wonderful state park, helping Mom settle in to her new environment and visiting with Jil's brother Rob and his wife Kathy.
