Lots of driving in the flat lands...
So we made it to Des Moines, Iowa last night. Today we drove 620 miles today. We only stopped for gas and ate food that we had in the car. The only wild animal that we saw was right outside Laramie. It was an antelope. Looked like the kind you see at the zoo. We also saw smoke towards the south from the wildfires in Colorado. Gray thick smoke.

The drive from Cheyenne to Laramie...
... came to a screeching halt. As it turns out, there had been 5 separate semi roll-overs in the past 12 hours on westbound I-80 about 15 miles west of Laramie and the freeway was closed indefinitely. ... know the entire life of the Pony Express was only 18 months total? That's when the telegram took over ... the "help wanted" poster is included in my photos. A very cool place to stop and learn about the Oregon Trail, the Mormon emigration to Utah and life of the settlers. We made it all the way to Laramie, WY and had a great Chinese dinner before settling in ourselves! ...
Wyoming
... of 24 degrees and they told us today that tomorrow morning is supposed to be even colder. We did not get any pictures of the antelope, but we have a couple from the Wyoming Territorial prison here in Laramie. We walked the cold, cold mile from our campsite to this historic site which is most famous for one of its prisoners, Butch Cassidy. Very interesting tour of the prison and grounds.
