We followed the river all the way to Hastings where the river turned northeast and we just drove east on to Lincoln and then Omaha. During the early afternoon, we drove to the lower lake
campground on the Refuge. This was
incredible! In the middle of the valley,
adjacent to the lake and surrounded by vast white capped peaks! Swans, ibises, and all sorts of waterfowl
