I was VERY close to signing up for a volunteer trip to Costa Rica when the Morocco opportunity came my way. Its really back on the road for us and only a quick stop here before we head onto our next pit-stop here in Wisconsin, we are also moving fast to see if we can escape the weather, it is starting to get chilly! We hope all is well and are thinking of everyone.

Got up really early - 4:30 a.m. Drove to the Rome airport. Stood in long lines. Security is much tighter in the Rome airport than in the states. Had to show our passports about 3 times. And wouldn't you know, just before getting on the plane, they patted me down (not the rest of my family), checked my backpack and my purse - and I'm the one that had the salami in my backpack. ... it is mostly industrial but has a certain charm especially with the river. It is also the home of the Green Bay Packers and the locals are very proud of their team. Unfortunately we ran out of time so didn't get to go and look at the stadium (they had their training camp on which would have been interesting to watch.

The next day we were up and off to Grand Rapids / Duluth.

Just being there to experience something that monumental, was all worth it. I loved meeting all those new people, even briefly as they came through the obstacle course in mass. So we travelled South East instead of south and arrived at Oshkosh about 5 pm, which we had thought was pretty early as the air show didn't start til the next day. Wrong.!!!

I think the whole RV world had decided to come to Oshkosh, we have never ever seen soooooo many RV’s of every description and tenters in one location. After about ten hours of riding, I arrived into Appleton, Wi at about 730pm. Mrs. Haines had dinner warmed and ready. It was soooo good!! After dinner she took me over to Renee's house for a visit with her and her family.

Tomorrow I will take off about 7am to try and get to the Harley Davidson museum before opening at 9am. After maybe an hour at the museum, I will head out toward Cleveland.

Well, I've started this travel blog a little prematurely, but I'm too excited to keep everything quiet. Trisha and I have officially started saving for our world travel adventure which will begin on the 6th of April 2010. Still deciding exactly where to start our trip and how it's all going to work out. All I know is that it WILL happen. 9 months to go. Until then this blog will help me organize my thoughts, ideas and potential travel destinations. Can't wait to get started.
