This mornings first mission was gathering all our bits and packing them. Amazing how much things can spread when four kids have dig through to find their stuff.
Today was a loooong day in the car. We were really happy with the DVD player in the car as we left the B&B at 10:30 and arrived at 5:30, we had two brief stops, one for gas and one for food. Did I mention loooong???
The scenery was beautiful, rolling farmland, corn fields and many quintessential red barns.
Saturday we could walk from our campground at the docks to the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center the museum which is operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The museum is located near the Aerial Lift Bridge (see video) which overlooks the entrance to the Duluth-Superior harbor.

Knowing that we were looking at about 600 miles of driving, we headed out of the national park early this morning. The first highlight was a stop to photograph Salem Sue, the World's Largest Holstein Cow, as they say around these parts. Other than getting to the next gas station on fumes, this was the extent of the real excitement for the remainder of North Dakota all the way to Fargo. Kidding ...
