Our flight to the USA is a good one. We choose to break it up with a couple of hour stopover in Philadelphia. Just a few hours in the airport. It's a cheaper ticket, by £250 per person. Three things disappoint me tho, re Philadelphia, and those are that I see no cream cheese, feel no 'freedom' and I get food poisoning. It only lasts 24/36 hours at most. Kim and Jon's house is as magnificent as I have always imagined. Set in acres of woodland, it is entirely made of wood, ...

Sandy and I were up and had a "no extra cost" breakfast at the Holiday Inn - Shiphol Airport in Amsterdam. We printed off our boarding passes. Day 14 - Leaving Washington State for Minneapolis

A travel blog entry by karenlhorne on Jul 26, 2013

... Andy awake for as long as possible. As ever, our answer is to go for a swim. We are staying at a hotel with access to a local gym. The pool is impressive but very, very deep (the shallow end is 5 ft). Of course this proves irresistible to Ethan who makes it a life priority to touch the bottom of the deep end (over 8 ft). After about 30 mins of this, he looks exhausted and I start to ...

Having never been to any part of Minnesota in my life, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from Minneapolis. A few things were certain: I was going to stay with a woman that I absolutely adore and greatly admire, the lovely poet ZoŽ Bird. I also was super stoked to be greeting my dance community for the Midwest Lindy Fest that would be taking place during my stay.

I arrived a few days before they did and was able to spend quality time with ZoŽ, and I got ...
