... to The Warehouse Club in the 1980s (now the home of blood-sucking lawyers), this is the city that gave birth to 'House' music. As an added bonus Carl Craig (ironically from Detroit), was playing at what appears, sadly to be Chicago's only decent electronic music venue, Smart Bar, that very night and the guys at Gramaphone were nice enough to give me a free ticket. Winning.

The Carl Craig night was ok but the music wasn't quite what I'd hoped so I got home early enough to ...

... When it came time to leave we had no such luck with either a van cab or a nice driver who shoved us all in a sedan....... We walked all the way from the aquarium to Navy Pier..... Wouldn't be such a bad thing on a nice day but the weather has definitely cooled off from our Disney California days!!! It's about 8 degrees Celsius today, with a nice chilly wind to go with it. So we walked and walked and walked for maybe about an hour until we got to Navy Pier. ...

Our first day in Chicago we took a trip into the city centre - we were staying just a few stops outside the city but an easy 10 minutes on the subway. We took a walk to Navy Pier one of Chicagos biggest tourist attractions. After having a look at the ferris wheel we continued down the pier and to the beer garden on the end. It was such a nice and sunny day so it was really nice to have a little glass of wine overlooking Lake ...

Part of the pier was under construction but the rest of it had things to cater for anyone and everyone. Restaurants, cruises, rides, bars, live music, you name it. There was even a wedding reception in the garden area.
People really do take advantage of the good weather here and the city does a really great job at providing the means to do ...
