... s surprisingly warm, presumably because it’s fed by hot springs from beneath. On my last morning I drove all the way round the lake which only took a couple of hours including photo stops, before driving back to Bukittinggi. Lake Maninjau is absolutely stunning and a must visit for any visitor to Sumatra. Stayed at the Hello Guesthouse for my last night in Bukittinggi which is much nicer than the Rajawali and only an extra 5000 ...

... scooter for a couple of days and head to the Harau Valley instead. It’s an hour and a half or so from Bukittinggi and beautiful. ... had an ok home, not huge but no where near as small as what the other animals had to suffer with. There was another tiger enclosure and we wer horrified to see a 3 legged tiger there.

There was a monitor lizard that was dragging itself along the ground, it's tail was infected and it's right back leg was useless, obviously an infection that had not been treated.

The worst though had to be the huge Orang Utan, he was sat in a corner of his cage, the ...

... First I headed to the very busy market, with locals busy getting ready for Ramadan. After nearly 9 months on the road and 2 weeks before the end of the trip, my small rucksack has given up on me so I go in search of another.
