We spent the morning strolling thru Heraklion. The tourist season is mainly over here as well. Also, it was Sunday so not many shops were open. We saw a lot of well dressed locals, probably all returning from church.

... loose and we were forced to seek shelter in a cave until the rain let up enough to run to the nearest restaurant for some warm food and hot chocolate. We returned to Athens Sunday night, another ten hour ride with little to no sleep, and then took a bus from the port to school. I returned home Monday morning at 8:30 am with class at 11 am. Thus far we have been, as my son David said, drinking out of a fire hose of history. Tomorrow morning we board a ferry to the fantasy land of Santorini. I think we can settle into sunshine and relaxation. We have enjoyed the history, but it is time to move on.

Day 260 - Last Day in Crete
