... whole family was completely amazing, I really wish I could spend more time with them, I hopefully will find the opportunity to in this life.
Janet and Kerry didn't mind taking me around to the Transport Museum (which was absolutely mind-blowingly interesting!! Pics are on Facebook if you havn't yet peeked!), as well as the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery.. which was packed with natural and modern history of Scotland and the world.. as well as some of ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pittThis is the first time Iv used anything like this before. I found out about it through my friend Jordan who writes a comedy sketch of a blog of his travels and I felt inspired to follow in his footsteps. Bare with me,my first blog wont be too interesting as Im just getting the hang of it. Its been a bit of a busy afternoon for me. I've started to get ...
Kendal, Cumbria, United Kingdom tizer... churning streams and modified our route. The back road to Little Langdale took us around in a circle. It circumvented Little Langdale Tarn. The entire route wouldn't be more than 2-3 miles, but in our present state, that was quite far enough. The road was flooded in places - easily calf deep. Eartha avoided the worst of it, by walking along the top of a dry stone wall (dry? Ha!) while I made a foolhardy dash for it through the flood. Needless to say I got even ...
Little Langdale, England, United Kingdom rachelkw... grids and past a lethal looking ford. The potholes were serious puddles. I'm sure my right headlamp dipped underwater as we drove through one of them.

Finally we arrived and dragged our bedding in as fast as we could before it succumbed to the wet onslaught. Vince was sitting infront of the open fire, doing a cross-word. The rest of the ridiculously hardy BMC had walked to the pub (20 minutes ...
Little Langdale, England, United Kingdom rachelkwWe are sitting with a huge pile of travel guides, maps, notebooks, post it notes and general accumulated info in front of us wondering where to start!

The itinery is almost sorted out in terms of countries and cities. We've got the MASTA health brief and the FCO no go areas. We think we've got Visa requirments in hand and the boring (but necessary ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom mad-marlin... flirty for coppers! A very funny experience. Actually the whole night could be summed up as one of the funnest nights i've ever had out.. Zoe was amazing to go out with, so so funny...and her two friends who came along were the bubbly, fun, carefree sort of people that make nights out with alcohol seem so much more colourful.
Having gone through about 5 or 6 pubs/bars/clubs, we finally made our way home after 2 (??? i think???) and i stumbled into ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pittHey!

Lets see where to start... This has been a pretty eventful week taking into account almost everyone had some version of the flu at some point. Some major exciting times included receiving a care package, developing a make shift version "English" Beer Pong, and the our College Black Tie Social. Along with some new pictures I hope to edit a video... though do not get your hopes up.

On Monday, I received the long awaited care package from home. It included ...
Morecambe Bay and Lancaster, England, United Kingdom scharrak... town centre a couple of times before finding the way out down the A6. We regained the motorway briefly, then left it again at Keele and came back cross country via Telford and Bridgnorth.

Just like on the way up, it took six hours, but despite this, the weekend was worth the struggle. The scenery in the fells has been fantastic and the walking marvellous. Lake Windermere is beautiful, even in the mist.
Ambleside, England, United Kingdom rachelkw... zag path back down towards Coppermine's Cottage, 600m below. The walking was loose stones and scree and ******* the knees. We were tired and stopped often to investigate things like the ruined miner's cottages and disused entrance to the copper mines. Donny had an emergency Twix, courtesy of Roland, as the emergency penguin had worn off.

Finally, to cut merely a half mile off the journey, we squelched down across the bracken ...
Coniston, England, United Kingdom rachelkw... brilliant blinding sun and heaving rain with about 4m visibility. So we headed out to the Isle of Skye, where the weather was much the same, we spent a very windy night out there before heading back to the mainland. We didn't see as much of Skye as we would have liked simply because the weather was so terrible! From there we just started heading back, because our flight to Kiev had changed because Alitalia on strike, so we needed to be back a day early!
