... It was exciting! And ISla Mujeures is so small that we were able to rent gofl carts and drive from one end of the island to the other! We ate at a fantastic restaurant on the north side of the island where we hear is the best beach on the island!
I would reccommend taking a trip to the Yucatan penninsula with your adult freinds and/or lover OR with the family. It was a great time for a reasonable price. And no one got abducted!
We had first visited Rocky Moutain National Park in September of 2008. We were so taken with the parks beauty that when we found ourselves unexpectedly 'in the neighborhood' again we had to make a return visit. We've been waiting for a day with the promise of some sunshine at the higher elevations and took a chance that ...
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, United States thesairs... drive day for us, we pulled into St Vrain State Park. The anticipated cold front arrived here on Thursday and it got down right chilly on Friday night. The highs have been in the 20's and we got about 3 inches of snow. The good news is that it is much colder in South Dakota and Nebraska so we made the right choice to come to Colorado ...
Longmont, Colorado, United States thesairs... to the 19th hole, I missed terribly. A man watching said that was a terrible shot. Here take this ball. If you make it, I’ll pay for the next round. Boy, you should have seen his face when I got a hole in one! Haha! He could not believe it! We decided not to play again. We went back to camp and began dinner. We made pasta on the bbq pit! It was so good! We had our pasta with red sauce with corn on the cob and salad on the side. We then went to bed.
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, United States flyingfonteinsThis morning we woke up at 6:30. We packed up our stuff and hoped to get a coffee at the general store and a shower in Grant Village, but unfortunately, nothing opened until 8. So, we decided to drive out the east entrance of Yellowstone and take our chances there. We found showers with unlimited hot water for $3.25/person. We also got coffee at the general store to have with our bagels. Then we were off yet again! This ...
Loveland, Colorado, United States flyingfonteins... different little mountain towns that reminded me a lot of the upper peninsula of Michigan, only with mountains!
We arrived in a little touristy town thats just prior to the beginning of Rocky Mtn. Ntnl. Park called Estes Park. Lots of cute little shops, restaurants, all that jazz. We stopped to visit the Stanley Hotel. This is where Stephen King stayed when he wrote the book "The Shining" and I can see why he was easily inspired! This ...
... with peanuts, Amanda thought she was in heaven. Also rode go-carts and bumper boats at Ride-a-Kart and did the big slide and trampoline jumping near the donut shop. On Monday morning the family, plus Wade's mom and Tom and Diane Imig drove Fall River Road to top of trail ridge. It was a 9 mile drive on a dirt road through the mountains. Views were incredible. Saw herd of elk in glacier basin. On way back down trail ridge road, we took a hike ...
Estes Park, Colorado, United States awhiddenYes, we finally made it. We planed on doing a lot of hard-core driving. So, Ram was always happy to finally reach our destination.
The funniest thing happened though.... We ended up getting a room for the night only because the great Rocky Mountain National Park was closed for construction!?!?!?!?! huh?!?!?!?! ha ha ha....
... paved road in the U.S. at 12100 + ft, and the snow drifts were still over 20 ft high. We took a ride as far as the Alpine visitors center and the always necessary gift shop. The building is still pretty much buried under snow. It's funny not being able to look out the windows because they're still under snow. The temp there was about 38 and when we left Estes Park it was in the mid 70's. Neat! (or is it cool??) Estes has a very nice dog ...
Estes Park, Colorado, United States jgsreh... it was cold at Estes Park it was at least sunny. By the time we arrived at Bear Lake we had a blizzard. Yes, more snow was falling, and falling fast and furiously. There was already a good foot of it on the ground and if it carried on like that a lot more was going to land! Bear Lake was very pretty though, with a mountainous backdrop, although this was difficult to see through all the snow. We had about 20 minutes to look around ...
