Holy guacamole! We just ran through Alabama! Right now, we are at 352 miles, which doesn't exactly land us in a town, but it does land us right past the Alabama / Tennessee border. ... it was a peaceful day. We are parked very close to the banks of a forest so it is quite pretty with the fall colors and the beaches just a few yards away. We saw a bobcat slinking through the woods this morning and then an eagle fished by our starboard side. Also a few small ducks and a heron hung out by the boat most of the day. ... there were long stretches were we did not pass much in the way of civilization until we approached Decatur, Alabama. It got a little crazy at this point because of increased traffic, a low railroad bridge and some barge traffic. If you aren't aware, Decatur is a huge barge port.
