Springerle and Glassblowing
... of the large fluted glass bowls that he makes (which sell for between 200 and 300 Euros each). Hans is the 6th generation of his family, who originally worked in East Germany. The family escaped to the West in 1958 and two generations continue to make glass to this day. Hans' wife, Sandrine, makes dichroic glass jewelry, which was too tempting to resist.

From exquisite to ancient

Wurzburg, a beautiful city and my favorite so far

Once we parted from the tour guide, we needed to do some personal shopping--hit the apothecary for some toothpaste (as Allen would tell you I go through lots of toothpaste and underestimated how much I would need this trip) and a German grocery store (yes, Jill was still looking for snacks, crackers to go with her peanut butter she brought from home).
