    ... say goodbyes to mom, Malia, and Eric. Eric made us breakfast and packed our lunch to eat in the the bus. Malia was crying all morning long. When mom dropped us off at the bus station, we noticed she was trying to leave as quickly as possible to hide her tears. We are extremely excited to start our trip but it is very hard and sad to leave our family. At least knowing I will see my mom again in December for Joo's wedding makes me feel little better.

    ... hitting the western suburbs along the Fox River just in time for the end of rush hour. We sat in I-88 traffic and then got really stuck near the River Road toll plaza on I-90.
