    ... Emperors , housed the Crown Jewels . It's main line of defense is the steep hill upon which it is built & the steep steps leading from one tower to the next. The walk down the hill took 25 minutes & nearly killed Jim's knee (it didn't help mine either.) Martin was kind to drop us off at the base of Petrin Hill so we could catch the funicular to the top.     We now have 5 days riding and 4 overnight stays before we get to Assen for the MotoGP on Saturday 29th June. We tried to plot a route but everywhere we thought of for a day's destination seemed to be either too far or too close to ride!
