... drinker! Grant enjoyed 2 of the local brews, and we shared a massive plate of meat & potatoes. After dinner, some more wandering around the town, enjoying the full moon set behind the cathedral tower. Tomorrow we will visit the castle and anything else that looks interesting. Then we have another bus ride back to Prague (hopefully the AC will work better), so we can board the night train to Krakow. We are looking forward to one last day in the Czech ...

Cesky Krumlov's magnificent castle was built around 1253, and is unusually large for a town of this size and is ranked second behind Prague's Hradcany Castle.

We started off our day by visiting the Castle (unfortunately no photos allowed). We had a guide who was taking her first English speaking tour, and she did a great job. When she stumbled over pronunciation, the entire tour helped her out! Since the 1500s, the Castle was owned by two families, but it was taken over by the State in 1947. It has a really warm feel about it, a 'lived in' feel, rather than the ostentatious glittery feel of many of the castles ...

The room felt warm last night, the old style wall heaters already on for the season. Lots of watch-looking before 0645 ablutions. Don was playing on his phone by the time I was done, noting he heard some rain. Not sure what the itinerary will be for the morning if it is a constant drizzle.
