Met the group for breakfast at 8.30 this morning. Is was a bit misty when we got up, but had cleared by about 10, and turned into a beautiful warm day. Brook wanted to do a tour of the oldest brewery in the region, that had been built to service the castle. They stopped brewing beer in about April this year as there wasn't enough demand compared to the brewing capacity. The brewery is now a museum and they are working on building a micro brewery next ...

... a sore bum! After that the two of us got a ride back to our hotel and at 5.30 we had a walking tour of Cesky Krumlov booked. I went while Katie had a rest so I could show her around tomorrow. It was amazing to see all the frescos on the walls from the 15th century. We did a tour around the castle at dusk which was nice to get a view over the village with the light flickering over the roofs. We also went in to the ...

So without our food restocked we started around the other side of the lake and started to climb towards the ...

Jana our host provided a substantial breakfast to get us on our way to visit the Cesky Krumlov castle. First view of the castle exterior the striking feature is the trompe l'oeil painting of nearly all the walls to give the illusion of various patterned brickwork and building block cornerstones, and 3 dimensional human figures. I wondered if I had seen enough castles by now, but the mandatory guided tour method of visit meant we received loads of info and could ask ...

... I got off at the right area, since it was marked, but everyone I asked seem to not know where I should leave my raft. Calling the company didn't help my situation, I was still confused! Luckily, there was a czech family that followed with a raft a few minutes after me and they left their boat by the side of the river, so I did too. Who knows what happened next! Wish I could have taken some photos, but my camera would have gotten soaked. And if ...
