Sinking Singapore Slings in Raffles

... hotel with everyone dressed up and then us backpackers arriving in shorts and t-shirts, but we were welcomed in even though we stood out somewhat! Here at the Long Bar we drank Singapore Slings which were first made here and ate the complimentary peanuts which you can then throw the shells on the floor, random!

Just a short entry today as it is already time to fly over to Bali for a relaxing week on the beaches of Indonesia!
Top tour of Singapore (part 1)

... and adults. Think of Disneyland and times it by 5! After visiting a number of shops for souvenirs, we had our photo taken with the Merlion – a mythical creature combining the head of a lion and the body of the fish, which is a key symbol of Singapore. We saw an amazing lights and firework show (called the 'Sounds of the Sea’) – which is held each evening and cost millions to setup.

Following the show we headed back towards the hotel and stopped off for a &#8216 ...

Singapore can go sling...

... a baby to Asia - they say, unless you were going to the likes of Singapore, where its clean and "westernized", well let me tell you, try working your way around this "spotless" place with a buggy (before you ask, I'm not too fat for the sling now, it was just too hot) and then think again. First of all, you ask a Singaporian how to get to somewhere and they respond by telling you which ...

Our last adieu.....

... everyone. It was totally random and totally crazy, but cool.

So you can imagine my reaction as we were walking through Vivo City Mall again, and I hear the same noise!!! Yep you guessed it....my hand went straight for the camera bag and I started running to meet the noise head-on. TOTALLY trippy and something I couldn't leave Singapore without getting a photo of. So does anyone know what the marching band is all about?

Anyways, once that ...

The Wedding Singapore

... will know that that takes some real determination to do. I just couldn't bear to see the Colonel's good name going so bad. However I would never let anyone
label me a quitter so the very next day I walked right back in there to try and find out what was wrong. Some times a lack of fries will lead to a large back-log but they were fully furnished with all thenecessary ingredients. It took me the first ten minutes of queuing there for the second day running to figure out ...

Meditations on Peanut Butter, Feet, and Pain

... sort of "knot" in your unconscious mind, and that you are constantly generating these "knots", except when you are meditating, so that gives a chance for these "knots" to come to the surface of the mind and evaporate. (yes, I know, what a ************). And once they have all evaporated, you will become fully liberated from all of life's miseries and find real inner peace and harmony and happiness. (yes, again, what a ************). So I don't buy that explanation, and I don't ...

Wandering_man Can't Eat Indian Food!

... is tearing down the 11 sanitary markets and replacing them with newer, more sterile places. This breaks my heart-- the Tekka Center where I used to have breakfast every day is gone. And when I was here in 2004, there was no massage, let alone prostitution. Not any more. "Sexy Oil Massage" signs across the street from where I type this. And I saw my first-ever Indian prostitutes on the street last night in front of the club named "Bombay Underground".
