... while we watched people and Ellie got to feed more birds! As we walked to the end of the spit of land it was scorching hot and we were wilting, so when we reached the 'lido pubblico' the opportunity to go for a swim in the Lake was too good to miss so that's what we did. The bay has a really sheltered part with shallows which go way out with large flat rocks perfect to sit on in the sun, and then a sudden drop off into the lake perfect for swimming. After a nice long ...

Eventually we approached the toll booth with ticket ...

... for a chalet very soon! I know now why Alison & Gary love it here so much. Whilst we were at the top we had our packed lunch and Ellie fed the birds as well as herself. It was a weird mix of temperature up there, kind of hot and cold all at once. My Raynards Syndrome kicked in and my hands quickly turned a very pale weird colour, which looks even more strange with a bit of a tan. Once we had exhausted the photo opportunities we ...

... gush, what on earth was that?? That was our awning corner pole collapsing under the weight of water from the roof! We all scrambled outside to support the rest of the awning and check out the damage. Fortunately no damage was done and we re-erected it in 5 mins, but we did spend the rest of the evening panicking that it was going to happen again. The worst part about the whole evening was that we had to postpone the pancakes!! ...
