Solar Panel really work well
The Solar Panels recently installed at the Ambassador Player Hotel really work well, the water is so hot you could brew tea with it, We stayed there from 6th---20th Jan 04, the Hotel is divided into two blocks with two function rooms, The senior citizens tend to congregate in Ambassador 1 where the tea dances--Bingo tend to be held, it is remarkable to watch them turn up on walking frames and crutches etc and as soon as the music starts throw them away and dance ! The function room in Ambassador two has a resident organist and a Cabaret Show most nights, you can also enter the Western Saloon from the reception where there are four live acts a night going through until about 2-30am when recorded music takes over, watch out for the guitar and vocals of Mark Curtis, if you want a rocking good end to the evening. We found on the whole the Hotel to be clean ,well run, with freindly staff, The food is O.K.but a bit unimaganitive, the same cold meats, salads, cheese put out in the same place and the same way for lunch and Dinner, with 2-3 hot dishes on offer, you can usually find something though, The weekly Gala Dinners are very good. A small problem is the T.V. the Hotel has only one Sky Channel, and the controller is a football fan, if you do get into a programme-- beware it can be turned off at any time in favour of any ball kicking session no matter how obscure it is. It is advisable to try and get a pool view as the underground car park on the other side of the Hotel is not finished, unless you like watching builders work, but overall we have stayed at Hotels all over Benidorm and would be happy to go back to the Ambassador. A good Bar which has just been taken by people from Newcastle is The Pickled Parrott, good for a sing song, If you want a quiet drink and a talk, try Bar Refugio, Calle Moli, in the old town, Tony and Arthur will make you most welcome, Happy Holiday !!
Great hotal to stay
I have just return from the Ambassador playa were my wife and I had a super Christmas and New Year. both Gala meals were very good, so was the food in general.
Plenty of intertainment especially if you like Line Dancing.
Pool would be a little small in the summer I should imagine, but the hotel is not far from the beach.
Certainly go there again.
Nice And Clean
I stopped at the Ambassador 20 - 27 Nov 2003. It is a nice, clean hotel with friendly English speaking staff. Rooms were cleaned every day.Good selection at breakfast, but lunch and dinner were repetetive, I do like chips, but seeing them twice a day and even out for breakfast one day is a bit much. The hotel is just a couple of minutes from the beach, with bars and entertainment on the doorstep. Only one other point, if you are going to the Ambassador during the winter, be aware that the hotel becomes a 'Young At Heart' place and is full of old people, (a small minority of whom thought that kids should not be allowed),and as such entertainment and excursions tend to be based around that fact.
Great place to stay
just got back from ambassador playa sept 4 2003. we were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. i went with my mum and my 12 year old son and his mate. we had booked for a twin room with 2 extra beds expecting them to be all crammed into one room. we were delighted to find they had given us a huge room with 2 bedrooms. the hotel was very clean and linen and towels were changed daily or as required. the room had air-con a blessing on a night. the two pools were good, although the uncovered one was a little small for the size of the hotel, the covered one ideal for baking hot days when the kids can play without fear of sunburn. the hotel was only a short walk to the lovely levante beach, where it is advisable to wear flip flops as there is a long strech of rock quite close to the beach, but it is quite smooth and shouldn't pose a porblem if you look where your going. the hotel is near all amenities and nightlife but not noisy in the evening. the ambassador offers typical hotel entertainment, this was amusing to say the least, although we did enjoy 'francisco jackson'. seeing michael jackson pulling pigeons out of his sleeve was a sight to behold. well gone on long enough but had to comment as we had a lovely time here and would definately go again. p.s the buffet style restaurant was also very good.
Great clean hotel
just returned from AP2, great time had by all, very clean with two great pools and childrens small play area, right in the heart of benidorm just a short walk from everything, not to much noise at night!
Food could have been better, but you can`t have it all!
the food looks a lot better than it is, good choice at breakfast, but dinner time is a bit disappionting and the drinks with your meal cost alot. Over all it was a good holiday, the hotel is very clean, the rooms are basic but clean. The pools are nice and your in the middle of everything, not to much noise at night (could sleep throught it with ease). Next year self catering though!!
Great place to stay
stayed at the ambassador hotel in benidorm twice upto now had a great stay both times. rooms are basic but clean we found the food very good as was the service of all the staff. Ideal location central on the flat.

We biked up to Altea old town to see the church with blue tiled roof. Beautiful from the outside but not so good inside. The surrounding streets were full of artisan shops and a few small cafe's with excellent coffee. Bikes down again and along the front for lunch but found ...

This visit I focused on juicing and Lars and I both attended the Mindset Classes moderated by Marco. It's always a great exercise to consider where we put our focus and how we approach problems and projects. I really enjoyed shifting my view to a more positive level.
We also enjoyed walking in the country side and discovered the lovely seaside town of Moraira.
On Tuesday we had a festive dinner ...
... in compensation the weather has turned nice and with some friends I drove up into the mountains to do a walk along a headland and past some windmills and it was warm enough for even the butterflies to come out. I have also been wobbling my way around on the motorbike and even used it to take Treacle to a local nature reserve, unfortunately to get anywhere I have to go on a fairly narrow but busy main road and that isn't much fun.
... converge on a roundabout which has no lane marking. The vehicles pour onto the roundabout and you have no idea where on the road you are suppose to be - there are vehicles cutting across in front and behind and people drifting from the centre of the roundabout to the edge and it is chaos. The only way I could cope was to follow my usual strategy of tucking closely in behind the car in front and following him where ever he went (usually in my ...
... and chocolate for breakfast which was delicious! There was a museum of the history of chocolate making and of that particular factory. After they had shown us around there we were allowed to walk through the factory but there wasn't too much to see in there. After that we went into the factory's chocolate shop where there were free samples (yummy!!) and we bought some chocolate that was made there. We got lunch on the way home which was another traditional ...
