... and beautiful. They are occupied by a motley collection of local businesses (pet food store, gym,children's clothing outlet, veterinarian), clearly much different from their heyday. Ware was followed by picturesque villages like West Brookfield, with a town green surrounded by white houses and a church.

As we meandered south into Connecticut, the landscape started to change, gentling a bit as we went along. Fewer conifers, towns closer together. I ...

... by Quakers and Baptists and has a very New England feel to it. Most of the houses are wooden framed clapperboard and shingle houses although there are some spectacular mansions along the cliffs bordering Easton Bay which came into view as we walked the impressive coastal path. The centre of the town is quite attractive especially the port area with many quaint shops along the old wharves. There is also a lovely church in the centre called Trinity Church ...

One can only imagine the parties that took place within its amazing rooms!















Upon our return we enjoyed a "nautical" lunch in a great local pub before wandering through the picturesque shops, streets and docks of Newport, which have a real holiday feel about them!

Finally stepping off the plane in Rhode Island at 1050pm. I head to baggage claim and am trying to spot someone who might be trying to spot me for pick up. I then pass a starbucks napkin with QLN etched on it in red marker. At first I walk by and then I take two steps back cause I realize that is the name of the company I work for now. Yay!
