Hello,
My name is Txung Xiong I am attending California State University, Fresno. I am going to go study abroad in Bangkok, Thailand for a semester in Spring 2010. I will be attending Rangsit University.
I only have two more week and four more days before heading to Bangkok, Thailand. This will be my first airplane and first trip out of ...
... drug dealer. One of the first things I mentioned was that we were traveling to San Fransisco, and not knowing anything about this guy he instantly said 'hey I live there, we should all hang out at mine, when are you going?' it just started to feel really weird. I tried to avoid all questions like that, anything in depth about where we were going. We asked who he was with and he just said 'oh my mum lives across town' - definitely suspicious ...
... to pass the time and we arrived at Yosemitie only to be disapointed that the main road into the valley was closed due to fires. We did however travel a different route which lead us up the mountains to see some amazing rock features and lakes.
Headed back out of the park and towards San Jose another 180 miles, with the radio bursting with soft rock we knew we were road ...
We arrived in Dinuba late so we checked into a Holiday Inn Express. The following day we left the Hotel and drove through Orange Groves to Kings Canyon. The route our Sat. Nav. (We've named her Lola like in the RV film starring Robin Williams) took us was a very steep and windy road. We all felt sick!! The route was very scenic though (we even ...
Dinuba, California, United States andrewkinsey... was a lot more vegetation than we thought would be there. Almost looked like we were driving through parts of Arizona with all the cactus around. The weather was absolutely perfect with a high of 50 and lows in the 30s while driving through the desert. We found an authentic 1950s diner called Peggy Sue's along the way and stopped and had lunch. Some of the prettiest scenery we saw were the rolling hills in California before Barstow and it was ...
Fresno, California, United States rachelsanders... I planned to zip through North Fresno, taking the advice of the CHP. As I came upon Golden State, I saw 2 of Fresno's finest, standing in a parking lot, just looking around. This was lucky and I rode up, Identified myself as a former police officer from LA and asked if the Golden State Blvd. was such a big thing. I could tell there was sort of a veteran, overweight with what looked like a probationary officer. I could tell by his immediate, "position of advantage," he ...
Fresno, California, United States stevevall... It turned out to be a shorter trip into California than if we had stayed on I-40. The biggest surprise I had while driving along this road came after we crossed over Union Pass. I was shocked to find the roadsides between Union Pass and Laughlin littered with mobile homes. It wasn’t the condition of the mobile homes that surprised me. I just hadn’t realized that so many people made this corner of the desert their home.
We didn't stop in ...
... live 2000 years, and weigh 1.6 million pounds. Large as the Redwoods are, they are no match to the Sequoia, whose maximum height is slightly over 300 feet, reach 40 feet in diameter, live 3200 years, and weigh 2.7 million pounds. The main cause of death for Sequoias is toppling. They have a shallow root system and no tap root. Eventually they become top-heavy and succumb to high winds. Today air pollution may be becoming their greatest enemy. For ...
