Ambassador Hotel - Amarillo

I wanted to write and commend this hotel on their accommodations and their snow skiing rates. We originally had reservations at this hotel on the way to Colorado. Due to weather, we could only make it to Lubbock and ended up staying at a Holiday Inn. Which, we had a terrible experience. But, they will hear later. On our return trip, we stayed at the Ambassador. I highly recommend this hotel. They have great service and it's very, very clean. Which is very important to me and my husband. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we'll be back.

I stayed at the Ambassador hotel in October of 2002. I had a wonderful experience. The front Office mgr. Johnny was superb..... On my last vist in December of 2003 I did not have the same experience as I did on my last vist. Upon arrival the bellman did not help me with my luggages to my room. Instead he was visiting with other bellman at the front desk. I ask to speak with the front office manager and a man named balia told me that me is the front office manager. I assumed that he will treat me as the other front office manager (Johnny) did in the past. I told him I needed asstaiance with my luggage. He advised me that they were short handed and they would get to me when ever they could. I asked him what about the bellman at the front desk. He then replied they are about to go to the airport in five minutes. I then told him it will only take two minutes to take my luggage up. He gave me an evil look and told me to just wait. Where is my Johnny!!!!

Apparently he left the hotel and the manners of the hotel left with him. I will never stay at the Ambassador again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I will make it a point not to stay in Amarillo. I will start scheduling my meetings in nearby cities. To the General Manager of the Ambassador Hotel...You need more employees like Johnny.

As a fellow hotelier, I am very particular and critical about hotel accommodations. My husband and I had the good fortune of staying at the Ambassador on June 11th. The accommodations and cleanliness were top-rate and the staff was AWESOME. Even when we had to comment on a few unruly children, they took care of locating their parents and made the situation good. Kudos, Ambassador!

Our convention for 2003 was in Amarillo. The Ambassador was the host hotel. I was OVERLY pleased with the accommodations. Most of all, the FRIENDLINESS of staff!! My wife and I are now planning a small vacation to visit Palo Duro Canyon. We will definitely stay at this location. Being from Austin, I was pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend!!!

After reading all of the outstanding reviews on line, I thought the Ambassador would provide clean, comfortable rooms, so I booked the reservation. I was shocked when I entered the room to find the bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly. When I returned to the front desk to request a room change, I was accomodated. The next room had a clean bathroom, but fresh stains on the comforter. I decided to pull the comforter off of the bed and ask housekeeping to change it the next day. When I returned to my freshly made up room, I noticed the comforter still had the same stains, they were just a little lighter in color, as if the maid tried to rub them out. I was very concerned with the cleanliness and sanitation of the rooms. The food was fine, the staff was friendly, the room was quiet. I probably would not return do to the lack of adequate room cleaning policies.

We have the opportunity to stay at the Ambassador two times a year, both going and coming from our daughter's home in Houston. Each time we have stayed, our accommodations and people have been enjoyable, but this visit was the most outstanding ever!! Lucy, who workes as a maid in the evening, went above and beyond with every request we had. Because we had our grandkids traveling with us, and were not prepared for all of the special needs they had, our requests were enormous. THANK YOU LUCY AND THE AMBASSADOR FOR NEVER LETTING US DOWN.

I was in Amarillo for business purposes and my company had booked my reservations at the Ambassador. I was supposed to stay for about a month, but I cut my stay short due to poor customer service. Items I had problems with were as follows: 1-They mistakenly checked me out of my room after only being there one week. They also did this to another man our company sent. This created problems when my company was trying to contact me only to be told I had checked out. 2- I did not receive my messages in a timely manner and the phone messaging system was not working. On the day I checked out, I was told about a message I had received 10 days earlier. 3- My toilet ran almost every 20 minutes and when I contacted the manager, he told me he would get it taken care of, but he didn't. It took 4 days to get this fixed. Also, when I complained about being checked out of the room, he did not seem to think this was a big deal. 4- The front desk staff was polite but not overly friendly. 5- My cable TV was a hit or miss situation. 6- The hot tub was luke warm most of the time I tried to use it. Over all I didn't have a good experience with this hotel. I don't know that I would stay there again given the chance.

We recently stayed at the Ambassador Hotel while visiting relatives for the holiday. They had a friends and family rate that would have normally prohivited me from staying there, but my wife wanted me to check it out because we were tired of staying with relatives for the holidays. What a great surprise!! They had an indoor pool--that the kids loved and my wife and I enjoyed being able to go to TGIFridays and has a light meal and drink (which was pretty nice after the family thing). I would recommend highly. Nice hotel, very comfortable and pretty. Nice people, too.

What a welcome surprise to find a hotel in West Texas like the Ambassador.

We are traveling in the US on holiday and we have found an oasis in the dessert!

The staff was delightful and the hotel was beautiful. We would highly recommend .
