... There are some jems in there too. Local photographs of working farms or landscapes caught just at the right angle, bags made of old ring-pull tabs, toy cars made out of old cans or interesting little brooches. IN La Habana there was beautiful beautiful silver jewellery, well priced and unique. Great artwork too, but a little more expensive than the mass-produced pieces.

... to appear – perfecto timing! Head back to our casa for a quick shower and then go for a walk around town. It is just so hot, so unbelievably hot and sticky and humid. The air is almost like walking through warm soup. Keeping ourselves hydrated (water only alas) we check out a local museum only because it has a tower that you can go up and get amazing views of the city. J

This place is just sweat central.

Sunday 17th July:

We had a long bus journey ahead of us today, which started at 7am – so up early to pack and say goodbye to our lovely host. She was so sweet, even had a cup of tea waiting for Simon just before we left. Bless, we said goodbye, she said something we didn't understand and then off we went.

The bus was on time, and the whole journey went by quicker than expected. They said we'd be stopping for lunch, and got there a half ...

... fruit. Our Landlady has been real saviour. Not only she kept asking how I was, making me some special tea, but she also cooked lovely strong soup-which was exactly what I was craving for. Next morning I was feeling 100% and we went for promised hike to local National natural park. We took taxi to El cabano and hiked to waterfall. We had a lovely refreshing swim +couple jumps under the waterfall and decided that we will walk all the way back. ...

... the first stop which was a waterfall . Found the guide to be funny as well as providing some interesting information about the park and forest. Falls were nice enough if a bit small.

Kept walking on from here and wandered through a large patch of bamboo before reaching the water hole you could swim in. Only a few people jumped in for a swim with me being one of them. The water was definately chilly. Ended up pulling myself up the small waterfall using a ...
