Wet and very cold

... on the day of departure I actually cancelled my plans to go because of a cold front that was making its way through the Orlando area this weekend and that was bringing allot of mositure with it, and because I did not think it would have ended up being a good thing to be sleeping in a tent with two young kids in the pouring rain and with temperatures dipping down into the 40's.

... stream - see video below. Julie stood next to a huge stuffed alligator in a gift shop on international drive (see picture).

In the afternoon went to wet n wild and had another go on some rides. I carefully stayed out of the sun to give the sunburn chance to heal.

From autumnal to tropical

Usually I love cold, windy, rainy weather, so perhaps it was the lure of the Bahamas that made me wince when I looked out of the window this morning. The leaves on the oak trees, which, yesterday, seemed colorful and charming, now seemed sodden, brown, and ugly. I put down my head and bundled up (well, I put on a light jacket and scarf – that's bundling up in Lafayette) for the errands that lay ...

Japan Party!

... an attractive Japanese woman in her early 40’s I surmised. She was a teacher visiting the Peace Park with her class. We sat and talked for a while…

“So, I asked her what the Dome meant to her. She thought for a moment, then replied, ‘It’s a symbol of peace.’

“This took me a bit by surprise. While meditating on it, she asked me back, ‘What does it mean to you?’

“I thought for a ...

EPCOT – Attempting to Catch a Turtle

... but Cheri was not. It was then decided to forego the “tour around the world” in EPCOT...even though Daddy had his heart set on some delicious pastries from the French pavilion…but there is nothing I’m not willing to do for my beloved wife…and that includes giving up delicious French pastries.

We returned to the lodge…maybe they’ll let us clean the pool.

Days 23-24

Rob Troke entry: Day 23, May 25 No signs of rain - time to calk the leaks in the RV (need 24 hours of dry time for the silicon to bond properly). It feels like 120 degrees on top on the roof. I fear sliding down the windshield due to sweat. Lauren grabs a couple tasty Publix Subs (beats the White House in AC - Publix is a grocery store?) and we're on our way to Clearwater to pick up Ted. I'll miss Mrs. N - very hospitable, likes the Dog ...

Orlando We met Jerry (the driver of the Trafalgar bus) at 8 a.m. for our lift to Disneyworld. Alot of people had done Disney the previous day and were heading to Wet'n'Wild so there were only a few of us on the bus. It was another hot and humid day....perfect weather for walking around a theme park!! The Magic Kingdom was going to be our first stop of the day, followed by another of Disney's parks, Epcot. After we had ...

Day 21: A Trip Around the World

... Mike got fried rice with beef. The food was all delicious! It was really annoying and uncomfortable sitting outside to eat it, but the restaurant was great. Then we walked through Germany quickly but weren't interested in anything there. We walked into the store and saw the Hummel's, which mom loves, but she didn't want anything so we left and continued on to Italy. I didn't get to buy anything in Germany, but oh well. We ...
