    Scenery second to none

Oh my, this place is beautiful. Set on the beach with awesome sea views. They sent a shuttle to pick us up from the airport and we were delivered to the door step in no time. My room is the standard room, with partial seaviews and a super comfy bed with feather pillows. The room is spacious and clean and freshly decorated. I have all the facilities I need including Wi fi and cable TV. What more could I want?

I'd been out for dinner with some friends, which turned into a few drinks out on the town. We ended up drinking back at the hotel bar until the early hours with a couple of girls we'd found. Having driven there initially, I was in no state to drive home so I drunkenly "negotiated" a room for the night. A very reasonable £80 had me in a nicely decorated double room. I noticed in the morning that it was a little on the compact side, however it served the purpose. Breakfast was good and included in the price.

When we walked into the place we rented for our first week here there were varying degrees of "holy ****", "oh my Lord", and "are you kidding me?" uttered from our mouths. Despite the fact that we had all seen pictures online prior to our trip (that we unabashedly showed to anyone and everyone) they somehow didn't quite do the place justice. We rented the Residence and Penthouse 2 at Blue Views in Camps Bay ( which connect by a door ...

Today, we left the hotel at 7:00 a.m. And did not return until 10;00. We first went to Table Mountain to take the cable car to the top. However, it was too windy for the cars to run. So, we went to plan B. We visited the Kirstenbosch Gardens. We saw a cute little owl and a pretty caterpillar. The gardens were very beautiful, but most of the plants were the same as we have in San Diego. However, I loved the art work at the gardens. They have so much sculpture here. They had ...

The trip took longer than we thought as we weren’t back until after 3 so we grabbed a late lunch and wandered the shops of the harbour area. We had a great meal at a restaurant near our hotel which again was very cheap costing $30 for both of us with ...

... up on the windows, we realized that the single sweater and long sleeve shirt between the two of us would not be enough. It was a cold ride.

The desert is freezing on a winter night, especially the last few hours before dawn, coincidentally the time during which we crossed the border. Each customs wait entailed a 90 minute outdoor lineup full of rattling teeth and watching body heat escape as misty breath. At least it was ...

She complained of having pain everywhere in her body, thankfully she could still walk and be semi independent. The final house we went to was that of a male. He suffered a stroke three months ago and was having a hard time understanding the concept. We showed him how to do same basic exercises to keep his right side mobile. He was ...
