Oh my, this place is beautiful. Set on the beach with awesome sea views. They sent a shuttle to pick us up from the airport and we were delivered to the door step in no time. My room is the standard room, with partial seaviews and a super comfy bed with feather pillows. The room is spacious and clean and freshly decorated. I have all the facilities I need including Wi fi and cable TV. What more could I want?

I'd been out for dinner with some friends, which turned into a few drinks out on the town. We ended up drinking back at the hotel bar until the early hours with a couple of girls we'd found. Having driven there initially, I was in no state to drive home so I drunkenly "negotiated" a room for the night. A very reasonable £80 had me in a nicely decorated double room. I noticed in the morning that it was a little on the compact side, however it served the purpose. Breakfast was good and included in the price.

... to us by our last hostel. It is an old fashioned cinema showing current 'arty' films. We were the only people in the cinema with our gin and vodka slush puppies!! We watched another great film called The hundred foot journey .Basically an indian family set up business in a small french village right opposite a michelin starred restaurant. War breaks out...I say no more. That evening we sampled another of the many restaurants on Kloof street.

      Well, they've finally gone!

We got to the airport just after 5am, dropped off the bags, stood and chatted for a while, hugged them tightly, and off they went. Eight very excited kids and one very excited teacher! Tears (from the mothers) kept to a minimum as the kids were so excited (and embarrassed!). A few photos attached, including one from Mare on the shuttle bus!

It is very sad to think that these children will not have an equal chance in life. This morning I also went upstairs to the classroom above to see the children who are preparing for pre-school. They are between 6 months and 3 years. We had a quick lunch back at the house, had a quick ...

Tonight we saw many patients that came in for their free contraceptives, another for a pregnancy note, several for injections and another for an HIV test. The sister let me give the HIV test to the gentleman which came back negative. I must say that I ended my clinical experience here in ...

I will return with such surety that is a result of two wonderful days of touring thru such diverse landscapes, meeting such friendly people and tasting the most spectacular food (and wine) that was the result of the opportunity provided to me by Cape Town team mates in Shaun, Olivia and Robin.
