... south Tehran is poor... And more. All in a 20 minutes and well worth the fare.
The rental car has sat nav, thank goodnes. However, we are now on pretty familiar turf. We headed off to Bad Homburg for lunch at our favourite potato restaurant. Now we are in Usingen at one of our favourite little hotels, the Kaminstube and are meeting our friends, Adelheid and Joachim for supper.
... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

... McDonald's, where it was fun to have to point to the menu because our server had no idea of English. Lucky Big Mac holds true in all languages, so I found it was pretty easy. As in Amsterdam, it was also remarkably similar to home, except for the bun which again was more toasted and warm. We got back to the hotel, joined Johnny for a well earned drink in the room, and then hit the sack, keen to get a good night's sleep for a massive day in Frankfurt tomorrow. One week ...
... There was a fairly quick layover in Frankfurt, which was time enough to check out a German McDonald’s menu. Mostly similar, but they’ve got a curry beef and curry chicken burger…that’s new! Hopped on another plane to Zagreb, Croatia. It was only an hour-long flight but they gave us lunch! ... little sleep and lots of noise. We checked in handing over our passports for secure storage. We chucked our stuff in our tents, changed and headed back into Munich for some dinner and our first beers. The centre of Munich and the Marienplatz was absolutely heaving. There were thousands of people everywhere walking and talking in groups with many dressed in Dirndl’s and Leiderhausen’s after visiting the festival all day. Searching for a ...
