I had made many a trips to Big Bear during the snowboarding season being that it is really the only place you can do a day trip from Vegas. However a few times we got the luxury of having a place to crash for the night. Only Teresa and I would somehow manage to be able to make a crash pad out of Oscar de la Hoyas Big Bear cabin and training compound. The two of us and usually 15 or so of the worlds best fighters under one roof..... we consider ourselves very lucky ladies :)

We will be moving on to Grand Canyon today and will be camping in a more primitive campground, with no electric hookups. I am sure it will provide us with a whole new experience.
I am totally exhausted after a whole day wandering around the Joshua Tree National Park in the desert heat.
We are camping for the first night in 29 Palms. Woot-woot! We started out the evening great, already cooked and ate out of our van. Ok... it was ...

Going to check out a restaurant called Wang's in the Desert for dinner.

Hope to have something tomorrow.

We hang out as the sun sets listening to more Kirtan and sip a yerba mate. Looking forward to fancy yerba in Argentina. All weekend Mary prepares me for my trip informing me and sharing her stories. After her excitement and seeing/meeting people from all over the world here at Bahkti, I am officially ready for my travels. Peace USA! I'm OUT! Paz.
... would be a bit more scenic . Our lovely Sat Nav lady didn't like it and told us for around 2 miles to turn around but then decided to go with us. The further inland we went the hotter and drier the landscape became and we took the Pines to Palms highway which went up over 3000 feet through the desert like mountains and past native american reservations. When we got to the top we had to come down to the ...
Palm Springs, California, United States tridentalx... both of us did but sometimes getting up and moving seems harder then staying somewhere that we like just okay. Especially when we aren't feeling great. So we made it a good time, going on walks, finding new playgrounds almost everyday. Swimming all the time. Isa now swims the length of the pool, diving and cavorting like a dolphin. A little spring in the snow... hearts and songs, renee
Desert Hot Springs, California, United States chimeranda... the radio broadcast and the panic it caused but that wasn't the story of the night. Gar was able to meet some of the people from the theatre. One of which was a director. She is going to direct 12 Angry Men which Gar loves so she asked him to try out. As Amy said, "A Gar is Born". The title of this entry actually came from Gar himself. Amy, of course, was teasing him about being discovered to which he responded "Big Gar in a little Pond ...
Joshua Tree, California, United States ramblinraasch... 30 (Yep, it took an hour to make the 5 mile bus trip and wander around trying to find the way into the Hertz car rental office), I had yet to activate the new credit card needed to hire the car. I explained my predicament to the woman on the customer services desk who tried to help me. However, they could not let me make an international call (even though it was an essential ingredient in my giving to them around $700). They saod they could change some notes to ...
