      ... Ancient Corinth which was also a score, because it turned out that we were there on the free museum day! Yippee!! We also stayed in a lovely Stellplatz where we were offered Greek coffee and an English-speaking grandson to act as translator.

      From Corinth, we had hoped to get down to Sparta so that we could base ourselves there to see Mystros, etc, but it snowed again! And that meant that the road down to Sparta was closed... again! Hmmm, a quick change of ...

      Today dawned bright and sunny, and relatively warm after the icy wind of the past two or three days, and it certainly made a huge difference to the appearance of the town. The sun sparkled on the wet cobblestone streets, and fairly bounced off the creamy brown brickwork of most of the buildings.       Just to finish off the entry for last nights New Year dinner, we were going to translate the menu for you, but thought sod it, why should we do all the work? After all, we are the ones on holiday!
      Suffice to say, there was pasta, soup, wild boar, sausage, pork, salad, bread, vegetables and amaretto ice cream, in any order you wish to put them. Plus two wines coffee and water....

      ... sitting with a mouthful of it (halfway through it) trying to swallow it but not able to squeeze it down into any spare digestive space. We swore we wouldn't need to eat for a week!!
