... which, by the way, were never collected, but took train to the lovely village of Villefranche with UK and AL. Absolutely charming town! AL and I walked around a few shops while the boys settled at a little cafe for la biere. Neither of us bought anything, but the four of us enjoyed lunch in the square. Walked back along the beautiful beach so we could wade in the Sea. Adorable French families everywhere. Water was beautiful as one would expect in the South ...

... surprised us at just how cheap it was after
      several hundred miles of motorway.

      We left at the next
exit and descended into Monaco, weaving through the streets until we
reached the marina. We were able to park the bike easily enough and
sat in a bar on the waterfront enjoying the first beer of the day.
We baked in the sunshine and it was probably this that tempted us to
get on and finish the day's riding.

... winding road to the palace, in awe of the breathtaking views. We saw the changing of the guard, wandering the narrow cobble stone alleyways of the ancient town and stuck our heads in a few gift shops and fashion boutiques.

The sun was shining and we were in the land of princesses, soaking up the magic that this French Riviera gem has to offer.

First day arrived late from Paris and walked into town and stopped in for some pasta. Today we went to Cannes for the day as you do, weather was lovely till around 5 when it rained but saw lots of nice sites and crazy prices (canvas coloured casual runners 200E, bathers 200E but probably made for 3E.. Tomorrow we are off for a cruise to Monaco and the palace.

Monaco was amazing and some much money in one ...
