John, Tieneke, Gary and I took the Metro to The Haig. We had a great day wandering through the city streets. Went to the Dutch Parliament House, the Royal Palace and the Peace Palace where there was a peace rally as it is the 9/11 anniversary today. It is a beautiful city with a mix of ultra modern and very old buildings. The IPad was accidentally on video when we meant to be taking photos - obviously not very tech savvy ...

... had been slid between them! For ease of use so we didn't have to keep paying the driver we bought 24hr transport passes and worked out which tram to get to the Concertgebouw. We got tram no 24 from outside the Tourist Office to just round the corner from the Concertgebouw

The hotel made a reservation and we walked there and had a sensations meal – I had halibut with veal sauce, which sounds weird but was amazing, and Gary had the seafood platter which was massive. We arrived at the train station in Alphen and walked to the bus station. I explained our mission to a group of bus drivers having lunch at a picnic table.
