Nice, clean, and a good breakfast, and the location is excellent, but somewhat lacking in personality.

    Buen sitio

    There are better places

Booked this hotel because of good reviews in books and on the net. Not sure what everyone is going on about.

Staff are nice enough, but not really that personable. Beds are hard, and pillows need way more stuffing in them. The rooms are basic (which doesn't really bother us) but are dark. The bathroom was really simple, and the hot water and shower pressure wasn't very good. The breakfast is also a bit annoying, with very limited choice.

The pros - the area and position is great. The courtyard has a good view and the free transfer service from the airport saves a lot of hassle.

I wouldn't stay here again, because for a similar price there are better hotels in Cusco.

    Lovely place

We're very happy with this place. It's clean and airy with two beautiful courtyards and gardens, down comforters and heaters for the rooms. The staff is very wonderful. When I came back one evening so nauseated from altitude sickness they gave me an oxygen treatment so I could feel better and they have free hot coca tea 24/7. They're always cleaning, scrubbing and polishing everything. Breakfast was fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bread, butter, jam and tea or coffee. We're staying here again when we come back from Machu Pichu.

Nicest place we have stayed in Peru so far.

Beautiful veiws of the city and courtyard gardens to relax in.
Room is clean with naked wooden beams & hand-carved furniture, Bathroom spotless with towels provided, shower pressure a bit dodgy but I guess to be expected at 3000ft.
Breakfast delicious. Free wifi, and unlimited coca tea a plus for the dehydration & altitude sickness.

    Cusco 2.0

A travel blog entry by ingunnaronsen on Feb 27, 2014

Our second stay in Cusco began with a celebration (of Machu Picchu, of being alive, a goodbye to Miriam), and the morning after was suitably rough. As a result, we barely made it outside (on a hunt of panyhose, interestingly enough), and ended up eating pizza with too much cheese and watching Sons of Anarchy and Girls in the afternoon.

    Cusco 1.0

A travel blog entry by ingunnaronsen on Feb 25, 2014

I slept on the second floor of our room, with a view to the entire city (it seemed). Tired from our jungle experience, sick of constant high humidity and oppressive heat, very sick of wearing the same clothes for days on end, Cusco was a welcome change, and provided a good and long night's sleep. Although blessedly not feeling the altutude in the …

    Welcome to Cusco!

... of us went out for a really bad dinner & called it a night. 11/04 - Us & Karen have a free day in Cusco today so we had a bit of a sleep in. We are trying to recover, our legs will just not move. It's ridiculous!! We had a look around one of the market areas & watched some of the Easter Parade that they had going through the main street. We hit Paddy's the Irish Pub for dinner & some drinks, a very well deserved reward.
