Travel Blogs from Bangkok
We had a few days in Bangkok, mainly eating and drinking. We were both a bit tired of sight-seeing so don't have much to report. Of course we went for a wander down Khaosan road, but it’s really built for tourists and not our kind of scene.
On our first night we went looking for somewhere to eat and ended up in an old hippie’s …
Our Thai journey started a the
Thai/Cambodia border crossing at Poipet...it took an age and was
quite confusing. We had chosen a bus company to get us across (as
recommended by our hostel) they said we wouldn't have to change buses
so thought things would have been simpler. However, it was
unorganised and we did have to get off …
After Hong Kong, we continued on to Bangkok for a couple of days. We had both been here before, so we tried to do some things off the normal tourist track. This involved a lot of wandering, and a lot of delicious street food. We took a local commuter boat down one of the smaller rivers, which was fun, and did a lot of wandering around markets and …

After months of preparation and a last week of frantic planning and packing we finally set off on our way to Bangkok. We caught a connecting flight from Manchester to London, then from London to Bangkok, 14 hours no problem. Except for the small fact our connecting flight was delayed which in turn made us miss the flight to Bangkok! Thanks BA! (The …
How has this hotel rated in the past?
Very reasonable for the price! Room is very small, however you have a tv and air conditioning. The staff didn't speak much English but were very friendly and always happy to help. 7 eleven just around the corner, and a few minutes walk from Khao San Road. Hotel is located down an alleyway, so was quite hard to find as our Taxi driver had to get out and ask people for directions to the hotel. One thing that was annoying was what we believed to be a Mosque close by that would start playing prayers out at about 5am for about half an hour!! But that wasn't the hotels fault. The shower is a shower head above the sink, was a bit strange at first but after travelling around Thailand we realized this was quite normal! I would return as it was so cheap and I believe it was reasonably priced for what we were provided!
