Fri 18th Oct Spent a total of 3 nights in Bangkok at the Dream Hotel. Pretty decent place although there didn't seem to be any hot water!! Not that big a deal considering it was around 30 degrees constantly and a cold shower was quite refreshing :-) Didn't really do much in terms of being a tourist in Bangkok as I've seen the Grand Palace, taken a …

We cooked a shrimp soup, pork red ...

Today has been great! When we woke up this morning we had breakfast and coffee sitting out on the balcony overlooking the clear blue sea. We then headed to our first lesson in Thai cooking at the Royal Cliff hotel next door to the condo building. We were greeting with cocktail fruit drinks upon arrival and provided with professional chef hats and aprons (which we found funny considering our lack of cooking skills!) The 3 ...

... more KFC, another Pizza Hut etc. I was surprised to see this, I wasn't expecting such a large shopping centre in Thailand.

I then got a cab back which was 150b (equivalent to 3 pounds) which one of the other volunteers told me was an absolute rip off. After Dinner, I decided to take a walk (alone, none of the other volunteers were about) up the main street, which stretches on for miles and is lined with shops. Crossing the road proved to be a little scary, It ...
