Day 35 – Depart Eurodam, & land in Amsterdam

We have a program of disembarking from the Eurodam this morning. Our time is between 8:30 & 9am, so we slip upstairs for a bit of breakky & bring back our coffees to await our call. Eventually we go ashore & wait for our driver to take us to our hotel. We arrive at the Mecure Amsterdam City at about 11:30am, book in for 5 nights (5th night part of our Trafalgar "European Highlights" tour). Once settled we walk to the nearest tram stop ...

... good. We biked home and went to get the umbrella that the nice lady down the road gave us the day before, so we weren't stuck in the rain. So we returned the umbrella, and politely had a drink and a few tapas at their pub to say thanks. It's a lovely little pub on the water with really nice staff, and what I assume is the owner who gave us the umbrella to borrow.��

However, when I looked at the time we made it from Gouda into room in Amsterdam in just 2 hours! Lunch Groceries from Albert Heijn - salads, yogurt, muesli, fruit,... ... Walked through the flower market and up one street of shops. Found a Sketchers shop and shoes to buy ...

Sight: Gloomy gray sky, looks like a stale theater screen between movies when the theater lights are on. This is pretty typical I hear, and has been since we got here.

We ventured into the sex museum which was a sight and a half. It didn’t phase mum she didn’t even bat an eyelash but some of the rooms were like watching porn. Very full on but an amusing museum none the less. The giant plastic penis was a great photo op as were the interactive props that seems to jump out of the wall at you. I believe at one point a plastic bum attached to the wall ...
