This weekend my host mom took me to their summer house in Bastad, Skane, Sweden. This is in Southern Sweden, extremely close to Denmark. Oliver had a tennis camp and Lisa wanted to go to a famous museum in Denmark.

The car drive from Malmö to Torekov took a little more than an hour. We departed a few minutes after 8 am. From Torekov Harbor we had to take a short boat ride to the island. Then off we went hiking, packed with water and lunchboxes ;)

We arrived in Torekov a few days ago. This is a small seaside town known as a summer getaway for Sweden's wealthy, as an average house in this town is worth $1- 3 million dollars. As an American tourist this is not a town that would be found in any guide book, and the only Americans that do happen to stumble across this little town are those who have relatives that live here.

Let me tell you that we in fact have many relatives that live here. ...

Scrumptious apple meringue pie

... bathing huts but these now had sky dishes,sun rooms and verandahs!

After a yum dinner of pasta we then tucked into the apple meringue pie, a delicacy from Fahlmans. WOW, what a cake! A combination of Kenny's mum's lemon meringue and apple pie, both as Kenny would say " awesome" so you can imagine, this cake was scrumptious!! We fell asleep dreaming of meringue pie and hoping for the 24 degree sunshine the customs officers had predicted...

The weekend has been so relaxing! It's my first time to go to a Spa-hotel and I thought it was liberating to be able to go around wearing robes ;) massage, gym, sauna+freezing cold ocean+hot tub, swimming pool and the food was delish... I really have no complains at all!
