We got our cool audio guides from the information centre, which you could only hear very clearly when you pressed them right up against your ear. The first thing that you encountered as you went into the camp was the gatehouse, with a slogan on it: "Arbeit macht frei" (work sets you free). This was supposed to mock the prisoners as they entered the camp for the first time. The camp was basically just a massive yard, and we ...
... and wine both tend to be cheaper than water is. Water isn't free at restaurants, and we always have to make sure to order still water, because carbonated water is the norm. Slower dining takes some getting used to, especially when you have places you want to go, but it is nice to sit down and enjoy your meal and company.

... a lot cheaper to take the bus, but we George Clooney the hell out of Venice as we left. We arrived at the airport dock, and have guy say he can take us to the airport for 20euro in his shuttle. What we didn't know and we soon found out that the airport was only like a 10min walk away, but what the hey, we are helping out the local economy. We were in the shuttle for about 5mins, and then we were at the arrival gates. We dropped our bags off, then went through security straight away, ...
... AT YOU. And while, granted, I hadn't slept properly in 2 nights, and was jetlagged and possibly a bit drunk from my gigantic beer at lunch- I am sure this only amplified the terror.
Obviously after that adventure, we were not good for much else but a nap.
Later that evening, we were still filled with the Carbs of Munich, so we had a light dinner of takeaway salads (praise jeebus they DO have greenery here), and strolled the city. ...

We sat down with Mel and Jackson and we chatted with them for a while as we waited for our beers and then when they arrived Briony had a real one too which she finished! Kudos to her.
