    Ahh the tranquil Danube valley, the sun burns my scalp while the alpines provide shady refuge, a wonderful feeling of serenity and freedom.     ... Krumlov is an absolute gem!
    The city was badly neglected after WW2 but since the end of the Cold War, the city has been returned to its former glory and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. Many of the pics below were taken from State Castle, with its gothic tower, 300 rooms and 3-story Mantle Bridge. The moat area is home to some bears which remained hidden while we were there.
