OK so the tickets are booked to Bangkok, vaccinations done, couple of hotels booked, lots of on line research completed. Soon time to think about packing - the worse bit!

My grandfather died in WW2 in Burma, near Mandalay. I am determined that we will go to Burma (yes, I know it's Myanmar but hey, it's my blog) and , well, I don't know what really - just be there.

... around. It was really impressive. My hastily taken pictures donīt do it justice, but it was very tranquil, beautiful, simple, and, well, impressive. Itīs an interesting story actually. Apparently the aunt of the prophet Mohammed fell off of her donkey and died there. They converted it into a holy site and I donīt know...maybe it serves as a warning to clumsy travelers like me?
