I have stayed at this hotel on four occasions now and it never lets me down. It's location could not be better on the quiet Linzergasse a short walk from the aldstadt. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a standard size for the city. The only difficult thing is the rooms are made for two so, in our case, we had to get two rooms for our family of four but that weakness is overcome by the quality, the location and the people. I love this hotel and will return soon!

Since we had to grab our taxi by 5am this morning, the alarm went off at 4am. Neither Hilary nor I slept well though because we were worried that we'd oversleep and miss the plane. It was a lovely drive through the French countryside as the sun rose. We get to our flight without an issue although Beth was concerned that she'd be stopped again at …
We have just come back from a lovely trip up to Lake Konigssee, and a boat trip down the lake to St Bartholoma. The lake is nestled between the mountains, and is 602m above sea level with an average depth of 150m. It is the cleanest lake in Germany, with the water being pure enough to be classified ...

We got off the bus at the wrong stop, walked the 1km up the Alps to the gorge to discover it was in fact closed. To make the most out of our journey we then proceeded to climb down to the gorge off the side of ...

I am very glad we did not miss that tour. Antonio spoke to us about the tour and the Sound of Music most of the way to our first stop, Leopolskron Palace. The palace backs onto the lake used in the boating scene where Maria and the children fall out of the boat and as the Captain’s backyard in the movie filmed in the private palace gardens. After our first stop we all clambered back onto the bus and were about to take ...
... the Easter in Salzburg store (aka the egg store) but it's now named Christmas in Salzburg as they combined their Christmas store with the egg store. I found a replacement for my Christmas goose egg that broke two years ago. It's not quite the same but it's still beautiful. Of course, by the end of our visit, we had the goose egg along with 8 chicken eggs painted and ready for us to somehow get them home safely. The store ...
