Wonderful Hotel Run by Wonderful People

I have stayed at this hotel on four occasions now and it never lets me down. It's location could not be better on the quiet Linzergasse a short walk from the aldstadt. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a standard size for the city. The only difficult thing is the rooms are made for two so, in our case, we had to get two rooms for our family of four but that weakness is overcome by the quality, the location and the people. I love this hotel and will return soon!

Since we had to grab our taxi by 5am this morning, the alarm went off at 4am. Neither Hilary nor I slept well though because we were worried that we'd oversleep and miss the plane. It was a lovely drive through the French countryside as the sun rose. We get to our flight without an issue although Beth was concerned that she'd be stopped again at …

... and had the gift of adding cultural references from both. He was quite the lovely character, in a gracious sort of way, and made the trip. We learned quite a bit about Salzburg and its history, as well as information and settings for the film. I remember when I saw the Sound of Music years ago, I loved the music. Well, and the love story of course. In recent years, when Mom was still with us, and in her house - the movie happened to be on TV on New Year's Day. Not sure why, as ...

... but didn't experience them. Perhaps I might want to, Ron, as tomorrow will be hot! Took a ride down the Salzach River yesterday as well, and the boat guy showed us Hotel Sacher Salzburg (part of the famous one in Vienna), and so it goes that royalty stays there, as well as has been host to famous movie stars. Of course with all the walking around and touring yesterday, I thought I would treat myself to lunch in one of the small cafes at Hotel ...

... High and by the end of the day, the students were wearing their US shirts!! After the classroom visits we met with the principals of KuMax, Maria Ward and Cleveland High School! It was lovely! We discussed formal things about the GAPP exchange and had some coffee and cake. The evening was spent at a student performance at Maria Ward Realschule. The play was about the life of Maria Ward - she originally came from England. As a catholic nun she sought out to educate the ...

... we two had taken another funicular ride, this to the old fortress on top of the cliff overlooking the Old Town. We also found the stairs used in filming the Do-Re-Mi song in Sound of Music, in the gardens near our hotel. We went to one of the bridges late in the afternoon to get pictures of the spires and the fortress with the light behind us. This was a fun day full of delightful moments. Two nights here is too ...
