I have stayed at this hotel on four occasions now and it never lets me down. It's location could not be better on the quiet Linzergasse a short walk from the aldstadt. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a standard size for the city. The only difficult thing is the rooms are made for two so, in our case, we had to get two rooms for our family of four but that weakness is overcome by the quality, the location and the people. I love this hotel and will return soon!

Since we had to grab our taxi by 5am this morning, the alarm went off at 4am. Neither Hilary nor I slept well though because we were worried that we'd oversleep and miss the plane. It was a lovely drive through the French countryside as the sun rose. We get to our flight without an issue although Beth was concerned that she'd be stopped again at …

... for a walking tour. This is the famous composer Mozart's birthplace so lots of touristy Mozart" nick nacks". The weather was warm / hot with temp 30-31 degrees. Would have been ok if my feet/ ankles weren't throbbing & swelling. Have to find the voltaren before another walking tour tomorrow in Graz. Enough of ailments. Our tour took us through the old town where we met our tour director after lunch who walked (not again) back hotel to check in. ...

Uploading music to the IPhone – I have never made the effort to upload music to …anything So I decide to have a go! I purchase some music and it then downloaded and we can play it in the car- Purchased 148 songs in total and we can play 1 tune! And still haven't worked out how to turn it off.

Today we decided to do The Sound of Music tour. It has been 50 years since the movie was made.
We walked to the stop where the bus was and meet our tour guide who took us to the mini van.

We left and drove to our first stop which was their house and the lake. We got off the bus for a quick photo stop because it was raining. ...

We lunched in Berschtesgaden before returning to Salzburg. We were dropped off at the Mirabel Palace and had the opportunity to tour the detailed gardens and see some interesting Garden Dwarfs before returning to the Old Town. Later in the afternoon Deb visited the Hohensalzburg fortress. The fortress was built to show the power of the Catholic Church and ...
