... boulevard at the heart of historic Berlin & thought to be the grandest street in the city. We passed many major sites but the highlight was the Brandenburg Gate and the beautiful Reichstag. ... Planets Suite by Holst. This took my breath away and Craig said the hairs on the back of his neck were standing up. It is certainly the best symphony concert I have ever been to. Up to 100 musicians were playing and many individual talents made for a wonderful orchestra. For the penultimate song they had the angelic voices of young children singing in the background. Then after a standing ovation and just for fun they finished off with the Star Wars music. Wow and more ...

As many who are close to us know, Nick and I have been struggling keeping up our spirits and not missing the things that are waiting for us back home. They were improved slightly by a cheap bottle of supermarket wine and a carefree evening of relaxing and card playing (as well as some decent wifi). With our spirits renewed and the number seven in the back of our minds we headed to bed, happy? As quickly as this feeling came, it was also demolished in hours time. For the ...
