We have just come back from a lovely trip up to Lake Konigssee, and a boat trip down the lake to St Bartholoma. The lake is nestled between the mountains, and is 602m above sea level with an average depth of 150m. It is the cleanest lake in Germany, with the water being pure enough to be classified ...

We got off the bus at the wrong stop, walked the 1km up the Alps to the gorge to discover it was in fact closed. To make the most out of our journey we then proceeded to climb down to the gorge off the side of ...

Today we headed out of town to Eisriesenwelt, an ice cave that was discovered in the Hochkogel mountain in the Tennengebirge section of the Alps. Yet again it was a beautiful drive, but we soon found out that we couldn't drive the whole way up. We parked the car and made our way to the ticket counter, working hard to overtake as many people as we could on the walk so that we would be in line before them. It worked well, we didn’t have to line for long at all but we hit ...

... There are just so many churches, museums and palaces you can visit before they all blend into one and I don't even own a piece of IKEA furniture at home. So we went to the pub, the official Salzburger Stieglkeller to be exact and had some good food and beer instead. They have so many varieties of beer so I tried the Holunder Weizen and Steffie went for the Grapefruit Radler.

... br> After walking around for an hour looking for my hotel, I finally checked-in and realized why I didn’t notice it when I passed right by it a few times. It wasn’t your typical hotel, it was a former berthing for seminary school students, so it had the look of a church. The rooms were very basic, and there were bibles in the drawers and crosses hanging on the wall…I guess this deters you from sinning while on holiday. The hotel had a wonderful receptionist who ...
