Many moons ago on The Forest High band camp were on the Las Vegas strip laughing at the gondola men on the fake lake at The Venetian casino. Little did I know that one day I would be in Venice enjoying the real thing and yes there are lots of gondolas and lots of water. Venice is literally a floating city and because of this navigation is very tricky at times. You all know how directionally challenged I am and Venice tested me to the extreme. The ...

Once in the old part of town it's a quaint historical and pretty city to walk around, with some pieces of modern art. There were quite a few beggars which surprised me, you see some in Munich but not as many as in Italy, one man was sound asleep kneeling up as we walked past and Liam said "maybe he's dreaming of being really rich!" it was a funny comment at the time. It is our last day at the markets. Yep you guessed it - more Bratwurst and apple dessert.

We also went back into the Dom for a last visit.

... 10pm at night...and it's free! SWEET. So that was our very first stop in Salzburg in the darkness of night. Surrounded by Red Bull sponsored planes, cars, motorbikes.

Finally, time to keep moving. We still had to find where we were staying and unpack the car in the dark, it was freezing and we still had to find something for dinner. Nothing was obviously open when we drove by, nor did we see any shops to buy a little food to get us through the night. So once ...

... century neo-Gothic Castle surrounded by water and privately owned. We were not sure of the exact address as the book only provided general directions (ie it is right past the Hotel zum Schlosswirt near a gravel path). We drove past the hotel and my navigator (Cheryl) spotted the tall spire of the Water Castle behind a row of trees so we doubled back and parked in the hotel parking lot and walked down the road. Unfortunately, the sun was directly behind the Water Castle and a ...
