I had never heard of Chester until someone said it would be worth spending a day there. As it turned out, on the day I visited Chester a couple of thousand other tourists had the same idea, and probably all took photos of the same sights that I did ( but I bet I was the only one who got a shot of the beer swilling man with a pig's backside ).
Chester has at least three things that distinguish it from most other towns or cities in England.

... overnight in a shipping container decked out like a hotel room (en suite and all) and went to the airport the next day to hire a car. Whilst wandering around North Wales, we came across a sign “Historic Church” which we couldn’t resist. We’re not sure we found it, because the church we did find was “rebuilt” in 1838 and we couldn’t find any further information about the earlier building. It was interesting though in that it had twin towers with a bell suspended between – unusual, we thought.
