A view of the Lac

... campervans. One of which had the biggest dog we have every seen. It was a Newfoundland, which looked a little like a small bear but was as tame as a kitten. As the sun was about to set we took some photos and then had a wander through the village - everything was closed - end of season.

A Skiers Guide to Les Arcs!

... apartments with good access to the slopes.

In Les Arcs itself there are a good amount of varied ski runs. In fact, I think it is probably one of the best resorts for mixed ability groups with a large amount of entry -level skiing plus some excellent harder runs and off-piste action. The ski area rises to 3,226m ...

Last farewell to France and a wedding

... So upon arrival at Nice I picked up my hire car and drove up to Fayence to Rosemarie's place.

The next few days were filled with relaxing by the pool and spending time with mum, interspersed with a lovely wedding at Roquebrune. The wedding was amazing as it was in a very picturesque spot and Cate and James had all their good friends there to celebrate it.

None of us had any cash flow, and they didnt seem to understand that it was completely impossible. We tried to find a solution, but the dissapointed oned went to sulk in the hotel and three of us went out for a walk.
We stumbled upon a "Miss Italia" competition, watched in astonishment and confusion for quite some time, then left to wander at 1am. A little while later we heard some music and stumbled upon something ...

Homesick in Southern France

... would make it difficult to sleep, especially without the relative comfort of our tents. Having to get up in the middle of the dark night to pee did not make things any easier. But hey, the conditions in France posed no threat. I had certainly endured much tougher things in the army, not to mention first grade.

This all sounds great, right? It sounds like I had a great time here in Provence? Well...I did not...for a number of reasons:

My plane leaves for London, England from Nice tomorrow morning. I'm there overnight and I take a long flight back to Toronto on Sunday morning. Everything back home is in order and my dog has been well looked after.
Tonight, I'm making a special thank you dinner for my aunt and cousins. They have really spoiled me here. I was able to take some great photos ...

Sainte Roseline

... I didn't realize was there was a saint named, St. Rosaline who was burned to death in the fire. Her body is preserved and enclosed in glass for all to see. I was able to take a few pictures.

We also visited this castle that now belongs to a movie director. Very cool!

Tuo pačiu dar ir nuotraukas is fotoaparatų į nesiojamą kompiuterį perkraut reikėjo. ... enthusiastic about American culture than anyone I know. He speaks English about as well as I speak French and he really wants to challenge himself to perfect his speaking skills. After a long conversation with him in English, I offered to help him with his American accent, and of course, he agreed--he even wants to pay me! I'm thrilled for an opportunity to try my hand and what might be a future career in speech pathology / dialect coaching on somebody who's equally as excited!

... or close their eyes with head phones on. I don't know how they do it. I guess anything becomes normal if you see it everyday. Its cool when your looking out the window, all you can see is cliffs and water, then you go into a tunnel its completely dark outside and all of the sudden the windows turns into a mirror (like a reflection) because of the lights inside. You can see all the people behind you. Then all the sudden, Wham! You see the ocean ...
