Today we climbed the HC category Le Semnoz (ski field) climb. It was quoted at 16km at 7% but had some significant sections at 8 - 10%. After an average weather prediction we decided to relocate to Annecy. The trip to Annecy required a trip through Switzerland ( via Lausanne & Geneva) to Annecy. Next day we travelled on through the Vendee and Charente Maritime regions with an evening stay at Rochefort. A very interesting town, haunt of Cardinal Richilieu, and built as a naval defence base by Louis XIV. Much more our style, because it was small enough to walk about admiring the historic buildings and to see the pleasure harbour, and small commercial port. And it's the French home of oysters... Which they grade and sell like good ...
