    ... to see them and hug them and we were on our way to Annecy, just over the border in the lakes district of France. We had an apartment overlooking the lake, amazing views. Lots of water activities, kayaking, swimming, paddle boats, the 13century old town was awesome. I should mention at this point the pastries, latte macchiatos, crepes, and jambon and fromage baguettes....wow, oh also the icecream. The weekend we were there they had an amazing fireworks ...

    ... would have been great but unfortunately the commentary on board was all in French. The fact that the cruise was so nice and peaceful meant that it really didn't matter that we couldn't learn anything from the commentary.

    ... Lake Geneva.I spent a lot of time and money in souvenir shops, acquiring key rings, thermometers, badges and pendants by the ton.     ... the canal is built the old jail, now a restaurant, and this is the most photographed building in the town. Not that beautiful, but its location makes it very special. Following the path from here along the side of the lake, we made our trip in 4 hours but I had got a bit cold so a late afternoon nap wrapped in a doona was needed to warm me up.
