    We were like a well oiled machine this morning when we woke up. We had a long drive ahead and wanted to get an early start so we were on the road by 9.30.     ... we had to stop suddenly when she realised that there were blackberries on the hedges beside the road. This was the beginning of her foraging for the day. We made it thought the Rad am mountain bike course, alongside the Nurburgring course where the 24 hr races were still in progress and up to the Nurburg Schloss.     ... had 3 rounds as Bernward passed over his 2nd round to me. I started relatively slow on the first round, then went faster on the second and on the third I went as fast as I could and I could feel the adrenaline rush kicking in. I am alive and it is great.

    We chat about German students doing Masters, the ubiquitous wooden benches, and the bouncy castle construction business.

    At around 6pm the two of us say our goodbyes, agree to meet the others later, and walk into Koblenz centre.
