An eventful day, once we got going. Waking up after 12 hours sleep it was already gone 9:00 before we saw our next installment of blue sky. And it was nearly noon before the household chores were done. A mile or so into Valkenburg we found a car park adjacent to the police station large enough to accommodate Wanda - from which we were promptly ejected by a friendly policeman. Directed into a narrow road leading to a public car park, we encountered a parked lorry and ...

Hamish enjoyed a quick hike up tp the castle and climbing all over it while Tony, Matt and I had ...

We enjoyed spending the morning sailing on down the Main and joining the Rhine River late morning. This stretch of the trip is one of the prettiest sections of the trip. The river is surrounded on both sides by miles of vineyards and many many castles. The small quaint towns are like stepping back in time. The bummer part of the morning ...

The weather of more precisely the temperature seems to dominate how we feel about the day ahead. Usually on holiday you are happy if it is hot and disappointed if it is looking gloomy. The opposite is the case with this one. As we awoke this morning to a cool overcast sky we had to have a quick think as to where our raincoats might be. Buried deep in one of the bags we presumed. As it turned out for he first 30 mins it was light ...
